They are also known for releasing 'knock-off' titles such as the 'Battle Raper' series which is a stereotypical fighting game in which the winner gets the 'spoils'. Today, Illusion releases their highly 'anticipated' game titled 'Real Kanojo' or 'Real Girlfriend'. At first glance, this looks like a typical sex simulation that Illusion has released in the past. What eventually drew my curiosity was the demo video for this game. I was oddly fascinated by the disembodied hands poking around the girl's face. This goes without saying, but the game is visually impressive. I'm such a sucker for good lighting and shading. The glowy effect also attribute the the game's overall look. I could go on about how natural the character's movements were, or how realistic its responses were to nose pokes, but in the end what sold me were two completely gimmicky concepts. The first gimmick they decided to utilize was face tracking. So 'ideally' with any webcam, the game will track your face if you decide to nod or shake your head. This is primarily used for 'Yes or No' responses, but it might be used for other aspects of the game. The second gimmick is something I have a terrible weakness for. This is something I've blew pointless dollars on at the movie theaters (and was very disappointed on many occasions). What Illusion decided to implement was the option to turn on 3D! So a 'purchased' copies of this game will come with standard red/cyan glasses.

The release of this game has me quite intrigued. I'm actually a bit optimistic that this game might genuinely be fun, but I won't be surprised if I'll hit the uninstall button after a week or so. In the end, fans of Illusion's games aren't expecting a game with depth or an immersive gaming experience, As long as this game provides an outlet for sexual frustrations, then Illusion has pretty much achieved their goal for the creation of this game. I salute you Illusion for advancement of erotic video games beyond 'Custer's Revenge'.
